Amy Lou Adams is an American actor whom has received praise for her portrayals of sweet and innocent characters. Adams was born and was raised in Castle Rock Colorado, as the youngest child of seven. Her father was in U.S. service in Italy. At the end of the 1990s, she started to act and dance professionally in Boulder's Dinner Theatre and Country Dinner Playhouse. Then she moved to a regional theatre in Minnesota where she was cast in a mock documentary film on beauty contests called Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999). After her screen debut that was successful, in which she played an unfriendly, but obnoxious contestant, Janet moved into Los Angeles where she began professional acting. Leigh was a star in a variety of films that became popular over the next decade, including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (from the year 1960) as well as Living It Up (1954), starring Martin Lewis.
